Fine Art digital print making.

Opticmix printersWe use Epson large format printers -

11880 64in.(1600mm) with Ultrachrome K3 pigment inks, can print up to 1600mm wide by any length dependent upon chosen stock.

We print on acid-free papers and canvas . The world’s foremost testing laboratory for inkjet archival permanence, the Wilhelm Institute in the USA, claims a display life for pigmented inks on acid free paper of 75 to over 120 years, depending on the paper, under standard conditions, before any colour change is apparent to the human eye.

Scanning.Imacon

We operate Imacon Precision 111 for negative and transparency film 35mm- 4x5in formats. For reflective (hard copy) scanning we operate an Epson 4990 and a Scitex Smart 342L.

For reproduction of framed artwork and work larger than A3 we recommend photographic capture and have working relationships with a number of photographers offering analogue (film) and high resolution digital services.

Profiling.

We use Gretag Macbeth Eye One spectrophotometer and software to calibrate monitors and profile printing stocks.

Coating.

Opticmix uses a HVLP spray system for coating canvas with a varnish specifically designed for digital prints to give surface protection and increased UV resistance.
