Lately I have been printing a lot of photographic images onto a couple of stocks designed to give a similar quality to fiber-based paper. Ilford Galerie Gold Silk 310gsm has a slightly warm white base with a smooth silk finish which has a wide colour gamut and also prints a rich black tonal range. Hahnemule Photo Rag Pearl 320gsm is a warm white with a satin finish which allows the rag texture to come through. With an acid-free cotton rag base and no optical brighteners in the coating this paper is one of the most stable archival papers available.This paper prints wonderfully with both colour and black and white images. |
